The Griffin Report of Food Marketing announced the 2014 class of 40 under 40 honorees. The list includes JAFCO Food’s chief operating officer, Brian Gangemi.
“I’m proud to be part of the list,” Gangemi said. “I’m also happy for us as a company to be recognized by such a well-known publication.”
Said JAFCO Foods President Matt Ferro:
“Brian is a large part of the company’s success today and in the future. His commitment to leadership, excellence and growth has propelled our organization forward in many ways.”
A finance graduate of Bentley University, Gangemi joined JAFCO Foods 10 years ago, quickly moving from comptroller to vice president of finance to COO, a position he has held for two years. JAFCO Foods has, on Gangemi’s watch, grown to include Sabre Transportation and Gourmet Specialty Foods, which recently was SQF certified.
In 2014, he has overseen the addition of a second third-party distribution center, located in Texas. The strategic arrangement of distribution centers and inventory sourcing points are part of Gangemi’s vision to maximize service levels, delivery radius, and operational efficiency.
In an interview featured in the November issue of the Griffin Report, Gangemi said:
“I have developed and integrated a broad range of technical improvements with respect to the company’s business to business operations as well as JAFCO’s online and social media presence. These actions have resulted in significant improvements in the company’s market share as well as substantial expansion of JAFCO national distribution capabilities.”
When Gangemi is not working, he likes to play hockey, coach his daughters’ teams, and go to the gym.
